Under difficult conditions, the production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery in the first six months of 2022 reached nearly VND 22.8 trillion, up 4.32% over the same period. This growth rate is quite high compared to the growth rate of the same period in recent years and much higher than the annual plan of 3-3.5%.
Leading the Southeast area
According to a report by the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the provincial agriculture sector has implemented its tasks in the first six months of 2022 in the face of many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of economic instability. World politics has caused the price of inputs for agricultural production to increase, some agricultural products are at harvest time, but the price has dropped, affecting the life and income of farmers. However, the sector has closely followed the direction of the province, closely followed the reality, synchronously coordinated with departments and agencies at all levels to drastically implement solutions to overcome difficulties and challenges, continuing to achieve positive results.
Production, business and consumption of agricultural products are gradually recovering completely. Impressive in difficult conditions in the first 6 months of 2022, the province's total agricultural, forestry and aquatic product (GRDP) reached nearly VND 11.1 trillion, up 4.19% over the same period (much higher than compared to the same period last year). with the national average growth rate of 2.78%); is the locality with the highest growth rate in the Southeast region.
In particular, the livestock industry continues to develop in the direction of industry and modernity. Large-scale farms and businesses actively invest in developing pig herds, making the total pig herd increase over the same period, disease outbreaks in livestock and poultry are controlled. Specifically, the province's total pig herd reached about 2.3 million heads, up 9.5%; poultry herd nearly 27.2 million heads, up 2.4%. The output of aquatic products in the first 6 months of the year reached more than 33.8 thousand tons, up 5.5% over the same period.

Efforts to develop production
At the conference to review the first 6 months of 2022 of the agricultural industry on August 11, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi highly appreciated that in difficult circumstances, the growth rate of the province's agricultural industry is still high compared to that of the province and much higher than the national average. The province's crop, livestock and aquatic products have been involved in the linkage and processing chains, so they have stable output. The export value of many agricultural products increased, many exported agricultural products were deeply processed products.
Talking about production investment to meet the export market, Mr. Truong Dinh Ba, Chairman of Lam San Commune Farmers' Association (Cam My District), shared that the pepper-growing area in Lam San commune is associated with the project. Large copper fields, with an area of over 600 hectares meeting clean standards, are exported to European markets, bringing an added value of 5-12 thousand VND/kg compared to conventional production. Currently, there are 3.5 hectares of pepper certified organic by Lam San Cooperative. The district is building and replicating the organic pepper farming model. In which, the advantage of this specialized farming area is that the thinking and production level of farmers have changed greatly; Many cooperative members dare to think, dare to do, boldly invest, participate in production linkages, form stable quality production areas for processing and export.
In addition, in the area of Cam My district, a specialized durian cultivation area has been established in association with the production and consumption of products with Toan Thang Import-Export Trading Co., Ltd. with an area of 150 hectares, an output of nearly 3 thousand tons. Frozen durian products of this enterprise are well exported to many countries. The enterprise is implementing the registration of planting area codes and forming production material areas according to VietGAP standards.
The last durian harvest, durian farmers won the season and won the price because this item was exported well. Not only exporting fresh fruit, many businesses invest in processing and exporting frozen durian to many countries around the world. Accordingly, durian farmers still make good profits, especially some gardeners still earn billions of VND/ha in the general situation that the fresh fruit export market faces many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
One of the focus of the agricultural industry in the coming time is to continue to monitor and perform well the information and forecast of the agricultural product consumption market; to make statistics of agricultural products consumed from now to the end of 2022 to develop a plan to support the connection of product consumption; guide people and businesses to develop planting area codes, packing facilities and apply technical processes to officially export durian to the Chinese market.
According to Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Tien Sy, the key tasks and solutions that will be focused on in the coming time include: Continue to monitor and perform well the information and forecast of the consumption market. agricultural; statistics on agricultural products consumed from now to the end of 2022 to develop a plan to support product consumption connection. Continue to develop and innovate forms of production organization, focusing on improving the quality and efficiency of agricultural cooperatives, associated with building linkages. Strengthen inspection of agricultural supply stores to promptly detect and handle agents who arbitrarily increase prices, hoard goods, sell fake, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods that affect production. Guiding people to apply technical processes to reduce production costs in the context of rising input prices.
