Mr. Tran Quang, Director of Xuan Tien Agricultural Trade Service Cooperative, is the initiator of this collective economic model. "The cooperative was established in 2014, which originally was a poverty reduction club, because at that time the income generated from rice was very low. I have been encouraging each farmer to join the production with the desire to reduce both investment costs and increase profitability. "
Xuan Tien cooperative is also a focal point linking the members to contribute their capital to invest in machinery to operate on the field. "When we made investment in corn harvesters, which allow us to collect corn seeds right on the field, the cost harvesting one hectare of maize was reduced by approximately one million dong compared with the traditional way. The same with rice, every stage from harvesting to packaging is now done by machinery. Farmers just stand on the shore waiting for traders to come and pick up the products, collect money rather than running around to look for additional labor like before.
Up to the present, the rate of mechanization of the cooperative has reached nearly 100%. Thanks to the establishment of good linkage chain in terms of large commodity production, the consumption of corn products of the cooperative are ensured by businesses with good and stable price. The cooperative links with the enterprise to ensure the consumption of maize seedlings, and with short-time cultivation, farmers can have up to 4 crops per year. Profit per hectare will therefore increase much more significantly.
Clean rice product consumption is ensured
Over the years, the cooperative members in the cooperative no longer only focus on productivity as many other farmers in the area. What they are interested in is the solutions to produce clean rice to meet the needs of food and safety of consumers today. Mr. Quang shared that: "The abuse of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, growth drugs can allow rice yield to reach 5-5.5 tons / hectare / crop. Organic production with the application of manure and bio-products can allow rice yield to reach only about 5 tons / hectare / crop. But the price of clean rice is always higher than the general rate about 1,000-1,200 VND / kg, so the profit from clean rice production is still higher. "
Thanks to the practical benefits, so far the cooperative has more than 30 hectares of clean rice production meeting safety standards. And the consumption of all of these products is ensured by the cooperative. After being pre-processed and packaged, they will be supplied to the market. On average, the cooperative supplies 8-10 tons of clean rice every month. The price is always stable from 14-15 thousand VND / kg, the value is higher than other types of rice.
