On the morning of July 31, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee held a pre-summation meeting about the program “Four Reductions”, the campaign “All People Unite to Build A Cultural Life in Residential Areas” and the campaign “Day For The Poor”.

The meeting

    Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duc – Vice President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province said that in the first half of 2009, the program “Four Reductions” has been launched and implemented homogeneously at provincial to grassroots levels. Thereby, the program has contributed to preventing social evils. However, due to the complicated situation of neighborhoods, drug trade and use have continued to change complicatedly and have not been able to be pushed back.

    Particularly, the campaigns “All People Unite to Build A Cultural Life in Residential Areas” and “Day For The Poor” have achieved encouraging results. Up to the present, 100% of hamlets and quarters have committed to keeping the title “Cultural Hamlets and Quarters 2009”. 11 out of 11 districts, towns and cities have chosen wards and communes to carry out the project to build cultural wards and communes. Among 1,004 hamlets and quarters in the province, 839 are culturally recognized. Over six months, the province has called for donations to the building of 504 houses of compassion and repaired 9 leaky and dilapidated houses of poor people ...
