Dong Nai and Its Economic Infrastructure Development in the New Situation

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee, Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, recently chaired the scientific and technological advisory council meeting to conduct a mid-term evaluation of the project titled "Economic Infrastructure Development to Meet the New Situation's Requirements in Dong Nai Province."

Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee, Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, chaired the meeting. 

This project was commissioned by Dong Nai province and led by the Institute of Business Research (University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City), with Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh serving as the project leader.

The project mainly focuses on analyzing the achievements and challenges in transportation, energy, telecommunications and information technology, water supply and drainage, irrigation systems, and waste treatment infrastructure in Dong Nai province.

The project emphasizes that, to become one of the robust and sustainable economic centers in the southern key economic region, Dong Nai province must maximize opportunities and overcome current challenges by implementing comprehensive measures. These measures include upgrading and modernizing transportation, energy, and telecommunications infrastructure, as well as ensuring environmental protection and sustainable resource management. Additionally, mobilizing capital and encouraging private sector participation and foreign investment are key factors in the development of Dong Nai's economic infrastructure.

During the meeting, council members and representatives from relevant provincial departments contributed various insights to help the research team refine the project. Notably, the research team was advised to provide updated and accurate data reflecting the current situation in Dong Nai, and to incorporate the latest provincial information, including advancements in transportation infrastructure and environmental development. The project should also align with Dong Nai's green and sustainable development orientation. By doing so, the province's unique characteristics, advantages, and challenges can be identified, with a focus on addressing the bottlenecks currently faced by the province. Furthermore, the meeting called for a thorough evaluation of existing and missing policies, the identification of priority areas, and phased development plans to propose feasible solutions.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh stressed the importance of this project, which has garnered significant attention from provincial leadership. The research outcomes will serve as a foundation for preparing documents for the upcoming Dong Nai Provincial Party Congress. Therefore, he urged the research team to expedite the completion of the project, with a more detailed and in-depth evaluation of key topics such as logistics, energy infrastructure development, transportation infrastructure, and waste treatment.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh also requested that the Department of Science and Technology act as the central coordinator, connecting the research team with relevant provincial departments to ensure accurate and practical information for the province's development, and to finalize the project in the near future. ​
