The Vietnam Red Cross provided over US$6,700 and 400 commodities boxes for households damaged by flood.

On September 24 morning, the representative of the Vietnam Central Red Cross Vo Thi Linh along with its standing member, president of the provincial Red Cross handed over 100 commodities boxes to households damaged by flood in 4 communes of Xuan Loc district, namely Xuan Hoa, Suoi Cat, Lang Minh, Bao Hoa and over US$160 to each household in Xuan Phu commune who has relatives died of being swept away by flood. This is the activity of the Vietnam Central Red Cross with the aim of supporting and lessening difficulty of households damaged by the last flood in some districts in Dongnai province. Each commodities box contains things such as blanket, mosquito-net, saucepan, and 10 kilos of rice. The total value of the whole relief aid is US$6,700 and 400 commodities boxes.

Besides Xuan Loc district, the relief aid has also been done in Long Thanh district with supply of 250 commodities boxes and 240 gift sets (20 kgs of rice each) and US$362 for 3 households having dead relatives. Cam My district was supplied with 80 commodities boxes.   

Heavy and prolonged rain during September 8, 2008 night had caused flood in some district such as Long Thanh, Cam My, Long Khanh town, Xuan Loc, Trang Bom, Thong Nhat, etc. Flood ran high and swept away properties, produces, domestic animals, and caused death of a lot of people in various places including Long Thanh, Cam My and Xuan Loc districts with the most damage.
