It’s the first in history of the province that a student from a private high school in Dong Nai gets the top score in the entrance examination into a big state university in Ho Chi Minh City. This is not mere good luck but the results of scientific education process at Truong Vinh Ky High School in Long Khanh municipality.
It’s true that the quality of the outcome is much more important than the “false” target. The teaching staffs had during the past three years since its establishment aimed a teaching technique suitable to individual students. As a result, Nguyen Thi Diem from Truong Vinh Ky High School get the first position in the group of top students entering the institute of Post and Telecommunication of this academic year. 15 other students from the same high school pass the entrance examination into such universities as Medicine, Architecture, Natural Sciences and Education and Training.
The efforts made by Truong Vinh Ky High School in Long Khanh during the past three years has enabled itself to minimize the distances between the private and the state school. A lesson could be drawn from this phenomenon. It is the pedagogical environment and scientific teaching method that is crucial to success and not the one originated a thousand years ago of lecturing and note taking.
