The 7th Congress of Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee is opened

On the morning of May 25, the 7th Congress (2009-2014) of Dong Nai province’s Fatherland Front Committee is formally opened in the hall of the Cultural, Sport and Tourist Complex. The Congress was attended by the comrades: Vo Van Mot – Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Huynh Van Toi – Head of the provincial Commission for Popularization and Education, Bui Ngoc Thanh – Head of the Commission for People Mobilization Work of the provincial Party Committee and more than 300 delegates and guests.

Delegates at the Congress

    During its first working day, the Congress listened to the draft documents presented to it, the report on the experience drawn from Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s activities at the 6th Congress, the speeches and contributive ideas about the reports presented to the Congress from the units in the province. In the afternoon, the Congress negotiated on sending its delegation to the 2nd National Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

    Over the past five years (2004-2009), Dong Nai province’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has achieved spectacular results from strengthening and developing the people’s solidarity bloc. The Committee has rallied people to join patriotic emulation movements, accomplished socio-economic tasks, maintained political stability and ensured national defence and security and social order and safety in the province. The whole province has 83.6% of the hamlets and quarters winning the title – cultural quarters and hamlets and 94% of cultural families. 7212 houses of love have been built and given to poor households in the province.

Delegates vote for the Congress’s programs

    Orientations and missions during the Congress’s 7th term (2009-2014) are to keep promoting the role of the Fatherland Front Committees of all levels in the province, diversifying forms of rallying people from all walks of life, strengthening and expanding the people’s solidarity bloc, promoting and improving the quality of the patriotic emulation movements and successfully launching the campaign "The whole people unite in building a cultural life in residential areas" and the campaign "Day for the poor".

    Tomorrow – May 21, the Congress is continuing its working session.
