During the delegation’s trip to Vietnam, the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce made time to visit Dong Nai province yesterday October 25, in the morning. Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dang Thi Kim Nguyen warmly welcomed the visitors. Mr. Stopforth took this opportunity to express the chamber’s concerns about Long Thanh International Airport project. He said that the Liverpool chamber has now grown to more than 2000 members across European countries as well as has long experience in international trade and commerce. Through his visit, he hoped to find many business opportunities for UK and EU investors involved in providing infrastructure services when Long Thanh International Airport is fully operational by 2011. The Liverpool chamber was also involved in fields of the auxiliary industry, high-tech projects in Dong Nai province and other projects in industrial parks located in remote mountainous regions of the province. The chamber demonstrated goodwill and willingness to act as a bridge connecting Dong Nai province with UK businesses if Dong Nai wants to visit UK for promoting investment. After the trip to Vietnam, the chamber will dispatch its member from Liverpool Region to Dong Nai province for seeking investment opportunities here.

UK now ranks 6th among Dong Nai provinces investment partners from 31 countries and regions worldwide. The province has to date lured 27 UK-invested projects worth around $316.843 million.
